Domaine de Lauroux Our Vineyard

Lauroux Rouge 2005

Vin de Pays des Côtes de Gascogne Rouge 2005 12% abv

At Domaine de Lauroux, our ethos of minimal chemical intervention coupled with biodynamically-approved treatments and traditional growing methods produces clean, fresh, well-balanced wines.  Filtration is carried out using bentonite and diatomeous earth - a form of clay; rather than chemicals.

Fermentation uses naturally-occurring yeasts, supplemented only when absolutely necessary.  During fermentation our wines are closely monitored and analysed twice-daily.  Sulphites, used to prevent the wines from oxidising, are kept to a minimum by frequent testing and levels are only adjusted if essential.  Our wines are made without using animal by-products, making them suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

With its wonderful red colour, our Rouge 2005 is blend of 4 grape varieties, 3 of which are normally associated with Bordeaux-style wines; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet, Cabernet Franc and Tannat.  The Bordeaux pedigree ensures the wine is full-bodied with lots of fruit; smooth and highly aromatic with hints of coffee and pepper.

Our Rouge 2005 has a lightness and elegance that can be enjoyed young, with the essential structure to allow it to develop if laid down.

This is the perfect everyday drinking red and can be enjoyed on its own or with food.
