OUR WINES

At Domaine de Lauroux, all crop management from pruning to harvesting is carried out by the Kitcheners, allowing them to maximise on quality control and the high-touch production.
As the winemaker, Nick's philosophy for our vines and wines is one of minimal intervention. He believes passionately in letting our wines speak for themselves. Quality is paramount and every winemaking step incorporates our belief that "good grapes make good wine"; our aim is to make the best possible wine we can with the grapes we have.
We avoid excessive use of pesticides by checking the vines daily and applying pest management techniques. This constant contact with our vines allows us to react quickly, using the right products to treat our vines, limiting damage and minimising on chemicals. Our wines are made without using animal by-products making them suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
Since their arrival at the Domaine in March 2004, the Kitcheners have put their IT and sales experience to good use, introducing client and stock management systems allowing them to track and trace shipments to their customers across Europe and the Far East. Export sales have increased - almost 90% of the vineyard's production of wine is sold outside France.
Although one of the lesser known wine-producing regions of France, Gascony produces over 80 million bottles of Vin de Pays wine each year - making it the number one French producer of Vin de Pays white wines.
Wines produced in Gascony are a particular favourite in northern European countries such as Belgium, the UK, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. Marketing efforts have been made in recent years to increase visibility of the excellent quality of Cotes de Gascogne wines with French consumers.
